City of Warsaw works to correct wastewater billing woes

Software errors created some wastewater utility billing problems for the city of Warsaw.

At the Board of Public Works meeting on Friday, Oct. 4, Mayor Joe Thallemer said that some customers were sent bills and letters informing them that the department was back billing them because of the errors that were created in 2018 by the billing system’s software vendor.

Thallemer said he wanted to make the people who called about the billing aware “that we are going to stand by what we had voted on a year ago, and that was that we would not expect those underbills to be repaid.”

The issue may be taken before the Warsaw City Council for their review.
