Downtown St. Joseph improvements being discussed

Some big changes could be coming to downtown St. Joseph over the next few years.

Community leaders are looking to expand the parking options for downtown and the beach area. They hope that pairing that up with the addition of more diverse businesses will draw even more visitors to the area.

WSBT reports that alternative modes of transportation in the downtown and beach areas are also being considered, as well as improved signage and additional enhancements.

A public open house to discuss the options was scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.
