South Bend police investigating Sunday morning shooting

South Bend police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of W. Linden Avenue just before 6 a.m. on reports of shots fired.

No victims were found at the scene, but police received a phone call 20 minutes later from a local hospital notifying them of a walk-in shooting victim.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, had a non-life threatening injury to his lower body. He was treated and released.

Police are still investigating the shooting, and ask anyone who has information related to the incident to call the South Bend Police Department at (574) 235-9201 or Crime Stoppers at (574) 288-STOP.
