The Starke County Sheriff is investigating after a 75-year-old man was shot and killed on Thanksgiving.

The shooting happened at a home just off of County Road 550 East on Thursday, Nov. 28.

The victim is identified as Randall Bailey.

It’s believed the shooting stemmed from an argument between Bailey and the suspect, James Campbell, 52, during a birthday party being held for Bailey.

It took about 30 minutes of searching with a K9 unit to find Bailey, who police say took off.

The vehicle pursuit ended in a cornfield. Campbell took off on foot, and was tased, but continued to run. The K9 officer eventually caught up to Campbell and he was taken into custody.

Campbell is being held at the Starke County Jail without bond and will appear in court this coming week.
