Ontwa Township Police are looking for a woman that scammed an elderly woman out of her wedding ring.

A Facebook post from the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police say that last Friday the victim opened the door to a woman that said she was at the home to test the water for lead. She also told the victim that as part of her work she would need to test her wedding ring. When the elderly woman handed over the ring the suspect left the residence.

Because of the elderly woman’s poor eyesight they do not have an accurate description of the suspect, but ask that anyone with information please come forward. They also remind homeowners that potentially find themselves in a similar situation–if something seems wrong you should always call law enforcement.
