Artists in two area communities have received grants from the Indiana Arts Commission.

Thursday, it was announced that the Magic Bus Band in Knox received a $3000 grant from the commission.

They’ll perform at and host a meet and greet event this fall.

Also, the Bergamot band in Middlebury received a similar $3000 grant, and will take part in a public performance and discussion.

Eight similar grants were awarded to artists in communities throughout Indiana on Thursday as part of the Rural Indiana Performance Fund, which supports fine arts experiences including music, dance, theater and more.
