Shoreline erosion is leading another Michigan county to ask for a state of emergency. The Van Buren County Board of Commissioners approved an official resolution to ask the state for the declaration January 14th.
The resolution doesn’t seek to just help their own shore line but all 3,288 miles around the state, saying that the “devastating situation” has had an impact statewide. Berrien County passed a proposal asking for the same back in November.
There has been no indication on how the state may respond to their requests.
