(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

(Tyler Sebree/ABC 57 Meteorologist – Lake effect snow showers are likely thru Sunday evening, Jan. 19, with some seeing upwards of 2-3″ wherever it snows the heaviest for the longest. Otherwise it’s mostly cloudy and breezy with wind chills remaining in the single digits and lower teens. Skies will partially clear Sunday night, and whoever sees the clearing will likely dip into the single digits.

It’s a quiet start to the upcoming week with seasonably cold temperatures and dry weather thru Wednesday. Another late week system will begin affecting the region late Thursday with light rain showers and drizzly conditions. Rain is likely Friday and a few showers will likely linger into Saturday. With highs in the upper 30s during this stretch, most of what falls looks to be rain, but some snow may be possible.

Sunday: Breezy with lake effect snow showers. High of 25.

Sunday Night: Areas of clearing. Wherever clouds break single digits are likely. Low of 10.

Monday: Some early morning flurries, then mostly cloudy. High 27.

Tuesday: Plentiful sunshine. High 32.
