Priest in Coloma gets 58 days for assault and imprisonment of teen

A Coloma priest has been sentenced for an assault on a teenage boy in 2013.

Brian Stanley, 57, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted false imprisonment in November. He was accused of wrapping the boy in plastic wrap, covering his eyes and mouth with tape, and leaving him alone in a janitor’s closet at St. Margaret’s Church in Otsego.

Stanley was sentenced to 60 days in the Allegan County Jail, and will spend 58 days behind bars after time served. Stanley will also have to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
