Michigan’s Attorney General will decide whether or not changes will be pursued over the Diamond Lake 4th of July party that went viral.

The AG’s office has agreed to handle the prosecution of any crimes related to the party.

The South Bend Tribune reports that the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office will not handle the case due to a conflict of interest, as Prosecutor Victor Fitz has a lengthy affiliation with one of the lake associations at Diamond Lake, and recused himself.

Other events are planned for the summer, and organizers of the July 4 event may have violated the June 5 executive order from Governor Whitmer pertaining to outdoor events.
