Michigan City Police are on the hunt for the person behind of an SUV that hit a pedestrian, and never stopped. The hit and run happened on Saturday just before Midnight in the area of East Michigan Blvd. and Warnke Rd.

Witnesses say that the victim, a 46 year old woman, and another man were crossing the street when the SUV hit the woman and continued eastbound on Michigan. When police arrived the victim was unresponsive and had to be airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

Police have not identified any suspects but say the dark-colored SUV should have front passenger side damage from the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call police or crime stoppers.
