A 7-year-old boy was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Covert Township.

The collision happened around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sep. 19, at the intersection of 28th Avenue and M-140 when investigators say the driver of a 2001 Buick Regal drove through the stop sign and struck a 2008 Saturn Vue.

The Saturn then struck another vehicle.

Damian Sanchez Enriquez of Covert Township was a passenger in the Saturn. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office may issue charges connected to the crash once the investigation is finished.
