A possible hit-and-run suspect was taken into custody after a crash involving a Mishawaka Police car.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Thursday, Sep. 24, near Eddy and Sorin Streets in South Bend.

Investigators say the officer was driving on Eddy when a pickup truck on Sorin disregarded a stop sign and collided with the officer’s cruiser. The driver of that truck then took off on foot, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The officer and a passenger in the pickup truck had minor injuries.

The suspected driver was taken into custody a short time later.
