The Middlebury Community Schools have decided to end their virtual learning option for elementary students, which means parents of Middlebury’s Kindergarten through 5th grade students have until October 19 to decide whether they will send their kids to school full-time, or withdraw them from the district.

WSBT reports the school superintendent feels that the younger kids are missing out by not being in the classroom.

Superintendent Jane Allen says if the state of Indiana or the Elkhart County Health Department mandates that there will be no in-person learning, then all children will be provided with options virtual learning at home.
