Sam Adams Elementary student tests positive for COVID-19

This undated electron microscope image made available by the U.S. National Institutes of Health in February 2020 shows the Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Also known as 2019-nCoV, the virus causes COVID-19. The sample was isolated from a patient in the U.S. (NIAID-RML)

A handful of Sam Adams Elementary students will need to quarantine after a student tested positive for COVID-19.

A letter was sent to the school’s parents, staff and community members Thursday, stating one student had come down with the virus. Only the student’s class and those who sat within a six-foot range of the infected student on the school bus will need to self-isolate until October 30.

ABC 57 News reports pending further investigation by the Van Buren County Health Department, affected students can return to class on November 2.
