Two dead in Elkhart crash

Elkhart police on Friday have confirmed that two individuals that were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Cassopolis St. Thursday morning have died from their injuries.

The crash happened at the intersection of Cassopolis St. and Sunset Ave. when a Jeep Cherokee pulled out and collided with the motorcycle ejecting both the rider and passenger. 22 year old Justin Walker of South Bend was the driver, and the passenger has been identified as 30 year old Courtney Short of Elkhart. Both were taken to the hospital where they later passed.

The driver of the jeep was not injured. No information about citations or charges has been released.
