A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle and died at U.S. 12 and Union Road in Cass County has been identified.

Edward Nienow, 68, of Union was hit around 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19.

Investigators say a 39-year-old Constantine woman behind the wheel of a vehicle struck the Union man as he was crossing the street.

Nienow was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor at this time.
