Man hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in South Bend

A 60-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle in South Bend.

The collision happened around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at North Bendix Drive and Ardmore Trail when the driver of a Ford FZX was traveling southbound on Bendix and struck the pedestrian who was crossing the street near the intersection.

The Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene to conduct the investigation.

The 78-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
