The University of Notre Dame has received a Lilly Endowment Grant to help fund its Snite Museum of Art.

It’s a five-year, $2.4 million grant through the Lilly Endowment’s Religion and Cultural Institutions Initiative. The funds will benefit an initiative on religion, spirituality and faith in the visual arts at the museum called “Inspiring Wonder.”

Notre Dame and 17 other organizations across the country will receive the grants, which total more than $43 million.
