South Bend man jailed after fleeing police on Indiana Toll Road

A man from South Bend was arrested Thursday night for running from the police.

Just after 9:30 p.m., a trooper saw a blue Dodge Avenger on the Indiana Toll Road that matched the description of a vehicle that had fled police earlier that day.

The trooper pulled the driver over, but police say the driver sped off and later was stopped by police officers down the road who had deployed stop sticks to take out the tires.

They say the driver, Dustin Abraham, ran away, but they later caught him.

Abraham had a warrant out for his arrest and the license plate was “false and fictitious.”

Abraham is in the St. Joseph County Jail.
