The South Bend Cubs have officially been named the Advanced-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

The announcement came Thursday, along with news that the team has extended their partnership with the North Siders through the year 2030.

Minor League Baseball has undergone a reorganization in recent months that saw a number of teams around the country lose their status. Previously, the South Bend Cubs were a Low-A affiliate.

Details about the upcoming season are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
