Winners of lottery jackpots in Michigan might soon be able to remain anonymous.

State law requires that the names of jackpot winners be made public record. But a bill introduced last week in Lansing would change that for the winners of multi-state jackpots.

Several states have that requirement, which can lead to a loss of privacy for winners, and possibly even endanger them.

Other states allow the winners to remain anonymous, or even utilize trusts to claim the prizes in order to stay private.
