A former Notre Dame football player and NFL defensive lineman was found dead three days after being reported as missing.
The announcement from relatives of Louis Nix III came on Saturday, Feb. 27, after a vehicle was pulled from a retention pond in Jacksonville, Florida, near an apartment Nix was living.
Nix played with the Irish as an offensive lineman from 2010 through 2013 before being drafted by the Houston Texans.

He made news late last year after he was shot during a robbery outside a Florida gas station. Nix posted a video-gone-viral moments after the shooting describing his injuries.
