A plan to expand the boat launch at the Six Span Bridge is moving ahead.

A vote Monday from the Elkhart County Board of Commissioners amended the unit development plan for the site, according to The Elkhart Truth.

Rezoning would advance the plans to add a kayak launch to the county-owned property at the County Road 17 bridge over the St. Joseph River.

The property where the kayak launch would be is currently zoned residential. A house on the property is scheduled for demolition this week.
