Meijer takes lead in getting Indiana teachers vaccinated

Meijer is partnering with the Indiana State Teachers Association on plans for a series of COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Indiana stores this week.

Meijer says it will hold a dozen clinics and give 10,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine to pre-registered teachers and school staff in grades pre-K to 12 by the end of the week.

Teachers and staff will be asked to verify their school affiliation and have proper ID when pre-registering through Meijer’s vaccine registration process.

Teachers can also register by texting “ISTA” to 75049.

Meijer in Goshen is partnering with with Elkhart, Concord and Baugo community Schools to provide vaccinations for teachers.

Faculty and staff can get the vaccine from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9, in the Activities Center at Concord High School.

Over the last few weeks, Meijer has given more than 25,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses at stores in Indiana.
