Indiana University is denying a published report that Thad Matta has been offered the basketball coaching job.

Rivals.com reported Matta agreed to terms to be the Hoosiers’ next coach, but the deal fell through after the former Ohio State coach flunked his physical.

Sports Illustrated reports the story was “completely false.”

Matta played and coached at Butler. He also led Ohio State to two Final Four appearances in 13 years before stepping down in June 2017 because of heath concerns.

IU fired basketball coach Archie Miller last week.
