BBB warns of tutor scam targeting cheating students

The Better Business Bureau is receiving information about a new scam aimed at high school and college students.

Many who sought to cheat by paying an online “tutor” to help finish their assignments can suddenly find themselves being extorted for additional money when they refuse to pay extra fees. The fake tutor threatens to notify the student’s school that they cheated by hiring someone to do their work for them.
