Safety concerns continue to play into the discussion of widening US-20 in Middlebury.

Dozens of people attended a meeting earlier this week to see maps and learn how the proposed INDOT project might affect their property, according to The Elkhart Truth.

A number of people are in favor of the plan, which would allow two lanes of traffic in each direction, a center lane for turning traffic, and shoulders wide enough for horse and buggy traffic.

But there are still concerns about safety, and what might happen to some of the properties along the route.
