A man is in jail for leading police on a high-speed chase with a 3-year-old girl in the backseat.

Hobart officers saw someone speeding right in front of them, last week.

When the officers tried to pull the driver over on Route 6, the driver instead sped away. The chase continued into Portage, eventually heading to Hamstrom Road.

Once the driver hit a railroad track, he lost control of the car.

Police took two men into custody, and also found that the driver’s 3-year-old daughter was in the backseat.

The girl was unharmed and released to her mother.

Police say the man was not intoxicated, had no warrants, had a valid driver’s license and the car was not stolen.

The driver is now in the Hobart County Jail.
