An Elkhart man is accused of molesting a girl.

Stephen Hunter, 74, was arrested after an investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s office.

According to court documents, the victim’s mother said her daughter, who was 12 year-old at the time, accused Hunter in December 2019.

Police interviewed Hunter who, at first denied all claims, then later said they were “fooling around”.

Hunter is charged with child molestation and was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.

The Elkhart Truth reports he posted bond and was due back in court this week.
