The Elkhart man accused of hitting two teenagers with a truck, one fatally, says he’s worried he won’t be able to get a fair trial in Elkhart County.

On June 4, Ronnie Hapner, 34, allegedly fled the scene after striking the two 18 year-olds, Blaine Fisher and McKade Nielsen, on Greenleaf Boulevard.

Fisher was declared dead at the scene. The Elkhart Truth reports that Hapner fears public outrage will keep him from getting a fair trial.

His trial is set for November 15 and on Thursday he and his attorney discussed a motion for a change of venue.
