Britain Avenue Bridge in Benton Harbor to be renamed in memory of child

The Britain Avenue Bridge in Benton Harbor will be renamed after a child who died in 1996.

Benton Harbor City Commissioners have voted unanimously vote to rename the bridge after Twijuana Marie Floyd, 12.

Floyd died when a sidewalk she was walking on collapsed.

The idea began gaining momentum in the spring as a way to help bring closure to the family.

A dedication ceremony will soon take place.
