350,000 Generac portable power generators being recalled

(95.3 MNC)

More than 350,000 portable backup power generators are being recalled nationwide after multiple reports of people being injured by them.

Seven of those injuries resulted in fingers being crushed or amputated. Generac Power Systems says an unlocked handle on the generator can pinch a person’s finger against the frame when moving the product.

The generators were sold between 2013 and 2021, between $800 and $1500, at stores like Ace Hardware, Do It Best, Home Depot and Lowe’s, and True Value.

You can contact the company for a free repair kit at (844) 242-3493, or online at www.generac.com/handleguard.
