A person has been arrested in connection to a shooting that happened August 12 in Niles.

Last Thursday, Police were called to the area of 8th and Poplar Streets for a report that someone had been shot.

Officers found a 20-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening.

At the scene they found a firearm.

ABC-57 reports that the investigation found that it was not a random shooting.

Police say they identified the shooter as 17-year-old Johntae Williamson.

Williamson was out on bond for a previous incident when the shooting happened.

He was held in custody until his arraignment on Monday, during which he was given a $250,000 cash surety bond.

Williamson faces three charges including assault with intent to commit murder and carrying a concealed firearm.
