Report: Black bear found dead on State Road 15 likely hit by vehicle

Medical examiners say the black bear found dead along State Road 15, near the the Toll Road, on Wednesday, Aug. 18, shows the bear died due to injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary results from the Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab at Purdue shows the bear had several fractured bones consistent with a collision.

Hair and tissue samples will be analyzed to determine where the bear came from.
