Officials are encouraging you to register your livestock

In St. Joseph County, 911 operators are asking people who have livestock to submit some basic information in case your animal were to escape.

Specifically officials are looking for information on horses and cows.

They say you can submit your information in an email to jhaas@sjc911.com, with the following information:

  • Owners Name
  • Address where the animals are kept
  • Phone Number
  • Type of Livestock
