After a lackluster July, sports gambling numbers in Indiana bounced back in the month of August.

PlayIndiana.com says Hoosiers spent nearly $216 million in bets last month, which turns into $1.6 million for the state.

Analysts say college football and NFL preseasons games were the popular sports to bet on, and they expect an even bigger turnout this month with football now in full swing.

Sports gambling became legal in Indiana two years ago.
