Elkhart County’s unemployment rate is at 2.8%.

That’s according to a report Monday from The Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The August rate in Elkhart County is below both the State rate of 4.1% and the national rate of 5.2%.

The Elkhart Truth reports the county is ranked 81st among the state’s 92 counties. Neighboring LaGrange County fared even better, at 91st.
