It’s a guilty plea from an Elkhart man regarding allegations that he tried to rob a man at gunpoint last year.

32-year-old Kollen Ene was arrested in December after police said he broke into a home armed with a shotgun in an attempt to get $50 from his father’s tenant.

His plea agreement sets an eight-year cap on actual prison time. The tenant told police Ene demanded $50 for the electric bill by text message and they later argued about the money in person, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

He said Ene got the gun out of a work van, forced his way through the door, racked it and pointed it at him. He’ll be sentenced in December.
