Open House planned for South Bend International Airport

The South Bend International Airport will host a public Open House on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The event will take place in the upstairs Atrium east of the Delta ticket counter of the airport’s commercial terminal building located at 4477 Progress Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.

The Open House will be the second and final opportunity for the public to learn about the airport’s ongoing Master Plan Study and examine the progress of the study to date.

An opportunity will also be available for the public to provide comments concerning the project and airport’s future direction.

Officials say there is no formal presentation planned, so attendees may arrive any time during the window of time noted.

Attendees will be able to view presentation materials at their own pace and ask questions of the Airport Authority staff and consultants.

The Open House will provide information on the following topics:

  • Overview of SBN’s master plan study and purpose.
  • Forecasts of future aviation activity at SBN.
  • Future facility needs at SBN.
  • Preferred improvement option under consideration.

Comments and suggestions received during the Open House will be evaluated by the project team and be incorporated into the study as appropriate. The proposed improvements are intended to achieve compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations. In addition to meeting the existing and projected aviation needs of the region.

Attendees may park in the short-term or long-term parking lots. Parking will be validated for all attendees.
