A stolen car from Michigan City leads police on pursuit.

Officers were called out around 2:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a stolen 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora in the 3400 block of Franklin Street.

Soon after an officer spotted the stolen vehicle and initiated a pursuit. According to reports, the driver of the Aurora disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Hoyt Street and Earl Road before crashing into another vehicle.

The other vehicle was a Chevrolet Monte Carlo that had the right of way.

Police say the driver of the Chevrolet was flown to a hospital in South Bend with life-threatening injuries.

According to officers, the suspect, a 17-year-old, is being treated for serious injuries at a hospital.
