Boy, 16, recovering after allegedly being shot by relative

A 16-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in Elkhart.

Police were called to the hospital late Wednesday afternoon on the report of a shooting victim.

The teen told officers an adult relative was playing with a gun and shot him, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The victim suffered injuries to his hand and abdomen.

Police are still investigating factors into the shooting.
