Two men sentenced in connection with Bristol man’s death

Two men connected to the death of a Bristol man have each received a 40 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

22-year-old Luis Garcia, 22, of Elkhart, Carlos Escobar Escobedo, 20, of Aurora, Illinois, were also charged with murder for the killing of 21-year-old Joshua Roberts during an apparent robbery that happened in October 2020.

Roberts was found dead of a gunshot would when police were called to a check out a crash in the Timberbrook Mobile Home Park on County Road 19 in Bristol.

The murder charge against both men was dropped in exchange for their guilty pleas.
