Police in Elkhart are investigating a break-in at a gas station, but it appears all that was taken was several packs of cigarettes.

The burglary happened sometime between Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 2, and Thursday morning, Feb. 3, at the Phillips 66 on Lexington Avenue.

Officers were called there, Thursday morning, after someone found the door forced open, but the store empty.

An employee told the officer she closed the business at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and had not planned on opening it on Thursday.

Several packs of cigarettes were reported missing.
