A St. Joseph County woman has been formally charged with murder in the shooting death of a man she was living with.

It was Tuesday, Feb. 15, when police were called to the home on Laurel Road in South Bend for a report that a man was possibly injured.

The 911 caller said her sister had gone to the home to check on their mother, 63-year-old Rebecca Powell.

Once the daughter was at the house, she saw what she believed was 66-year-old Geoff Delusignan’s legs sticking out from behind a piece of furniture.

The woman then called her sister and told her to call police.

A relative said Powell suffers from psychotic episodes, claimed that Delusignan killed one of her relatives, and was concerned that she would kill Delusignan.
