Police in Cass County Michigan were called out to investigate a single-car crash near the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and Turpin Road early Sunday evening, shortly before 5:00 p.m.

Investigators say the vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old William Jones of Cassopolis, was traveling South on Robinson Road when he lost control at the curve on Calvin Hill and Turpin.

His vehicle left the road, stuck an embankment and ejected Jones.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Jones was not wearing a seatbelt, and it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
