Person rescued from second story window during fire in downtown South Bend

One person was rescued from a second story window after a fire happened on Tuesday, March 29th, just around 3:20 a.m., in downtown South Bend.

Crews were called to 520 S. Michigan St. to put out the fire.

Another person who was inside of the building was able to escape without injury.

The South Bend Police Department was providing traffic control as the fire department worked to take down the flames.

There were no injuries of occupants or of fire crews. The cause is still under investigation.
