A 58-year-old Cassopolis woman is recovering after her car ended up in a pond.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 on Dutch Settlement Street, west of M 62 in Wayne Township.

Cass County Sheriff’s investigators say the woman swerved to avoid a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, causing her to lose control of her vehicle, run off the road and overturn the vehicle into Mill Pond.

The woman was evaluated on scene by emergency medical personnel and then taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital.

Wright was wearing a seatbelt and neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a factor in the crash.
