The Birds have returned to South Bend.

By which we mean, Bird scooters. The City began its experiment with shared mobility five years ago with a fleet of bright green Lime bikes. Electric scooters were soon added, which are now the dominant mode of quick transportation in the city offered through Bird.

A fleet of 150 electric scooters and 25 e-bikes will be scattered around the city, unlockable with a one-dollar fee, and available to ride for 39 cents a minute.

WNDU reports that South Bend is the first Bird-served city in Indiana to add the e-bikes.
