A Pokagon Tribal Police Officer is under investigation for suspected driving while intoxicated.

The officer in question was taken to the hospital on March 30th after he crashed into a power pole on U.S. 20 near Rosewood Road.

The officer submitted to a breath test with his blood alcohol content registering .187.

A blood test was also taken and sent to a lab for processing.

The police department was notified and a report was sent to the prosecutor’s office to review for possible charges.

WNDU reports the officer is a former Metro Homicide investigator and former South Bend Police Officer.
